Renal Transplant & General Surgery

Experience: Over 48 years

Indraprastha Apollo Hospital

New Delhi, India

Introduction

Dr. S. N. Mehta does renal transplant and general surgery at Indraprastha Apollo. Patients end up here when their kidneys fail, and a transplant is the only road forward. Or when a living donor needs their kidney taken out safely, post-transplant rejection is threatening the new organ, or a complex general surgical problem needs experienced hands.

About Dr. S. N. Mehta

Dr. S. N. Mehta has been in the operating room for forty-eight years. Almost half a century of perfecting his surgical instinct. When a surgeon has been operating for that long, there is absolutely no anatomical surprise or surgical complication they haven’t already seen and fixed. Got his MS in General Surgery from the incredibly demanding AIIMS New Delhi before heading to the UK to earn his FRCS from Edinburgh.

He focuses heavily on making the donor’s surgery as painless and safe as possible. Instead of making a massive cut to remove the healthy kidney, he uses Laparoscopic Nephrectomy.
Alongside his transplant work, he continues to perform a wide spectrum of advanced gastrointestinal and general abdominal surgeries.
