Introduction

Dr. K. K. Handa is the Chairman of ENT and Head & Neck Surgery at Medanta. Patients reach him when the voice stops working properly, hearing loss crosses the point where hearing aids help, sinuses stay blocked despite years of medications, and sleep apnea makes nights dangerous.

About Dr. K. K. Handa

Dr. K. K. Handa has thirty-seven years of experience treating everything from vocal cord problems that silenced singers to cochlear implants. He did MBBS from the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. MS in ENT from PGIMER Chandigarh, where he won the Silver Medal of the First Order. He has an academic career built on teaching, research, and operating on the most complex cases a government tertiary centre can throw at you.

During his AIIMS years, he set up the country’s first dedicated voice clinic. Before that, voice disorders were an afterthought in ENT departments. Patients with vocal cord nodules, polyps, or paralysis had nowhere specific to go. He uses robotic platforms for severe sleep apnea surgery, which very few ENT surgeons in India offer. Has been at Medanta since the hospital opened its doors in 2009 and has shaped the entire ENT department from day one.
