About Dr. Ashok Rajgopal
Dr. Ashok Rajgopal has experience of fifty years in orthopaedics. He did over thirty-nine thousand total knee replacements and more than sixty thousand arthroscopic surgeries. Once did twenty-eight knee replacements in under twelve hours. Those numbers don’t need explanation. They speak on their own.
He did pretty much every first that Indian knee surgery has seen — first bilateral total knee replacement in the country, first minimally invasive joint replacement, first virtual knee replacement using patient-specific instruments. Actually sat on the international design team that built the PERSONA knee system with Zimmer, which is used globally now. Previously worked at Fortis Memorial Research Institute and Sitaram Bhartia Institute. Founded the Asia Pacific Arthroplasty Society and served as its President.
