Introduction

Dr. Subhash Jangid is the Senior Director of Orthopaedics at FMRI. Patients usually reach out to him when bad knee or hip arthritis makes walking unbearable, when an old joint implant fails, or when athletes need complex ligament repairs.

About Dr. Subhash Jangid

With twenty-five years in orthopedics, Dr. Subhash Jangid has successfully executed over 20,000 surgeries. That kind of massive surgical volume builds pure muscle memory. He earned his MS from AIIMS New Delhi and an MCh in Orthopaedics before grabbing his MRCS from Glasgow.

He completely revolutionized how knee surgeries are done in India to fix exactly that problem. He was the very first surgeon in the country to introduce NAV3 computer navigation. Later, the first to use the NAVIO robotic arm for knee replacements. Beyond robotics, he was actually part of the core team that set up India’s very first Bone Bank at AIIMS. He also uses specialized arthroscopy to repair ACL tears and fix highly complex pelvic fractures after major trauma.

Patient Experience & Approach

Families mention that Dr. Subhash Jangid brings up the 3D computer models of their actual knee in the clinic, showing exactly how the robot will shave off only the damaged bone while saving the healthy ligaments. This transparency drastically lowers pre-surgery anxiety. For patients needing partial knee replacements, he explains exactly why saving half of their natural joint will make them feel much more “normal” post-surgery.
