Introduction

Dr. Ashish Sabharwal is a Senior Consultant Urologist and Robotic Surgeon at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals. He has spent twenty-four years in urology with a laser focus on one thing most urologists don’t specialize in this deeply — prostate cancer.

About Dr. Ashish Sabharwal

Dr. Ashish Sabharwal got his DNB in Urology from Indraprastha Apollo itself. Then he went to the University of Miami for a clinical fellowship in endourology and robotic surgery from 2008 to 2011. Three years spent in the American system, learning robotic surgery on patients every day, in a full clinical fellowship where he operated.

Dr. Ashish has performed over 2000 robotic radical prostatectomies. This high volume is crucial for achieving better outcomes in cancer control, continence, and sexual function. He has been certified as a Proctor for Da Vinci Robotic Surgery by Intuitive Surgical, the robot manufacturer. This gave him the authority to train other surgeons globally.

Patient Experience & Approach

Prostate cancer patients say the conversation covers all three outcomes that actually matter: whether the cancer gets fully removed, whether continence stays intact, and whether sexual function survives. Kidney stone patients say RIRS with laser meant the stone got dusted without any external cuts at all. Those dealing with erectile dysfunction mention the penile prosthesis conversation happened without judgment, which matters because most men suffer silently for years before even bringing it up.
